2011 - Ted Williams Stamp Approval!

NEW 10/2 Write-up: U.S. Postal Service to issue stamp honoring Red Sox legend Ted Williams, Springffield Republican Newspaper

After 10 years of hard work to get this done, we at the Bosox Club have been rewarded with a commemorative Ted Williams Stamp!

Ted Williams (1918-2002) of the Boston Red Sox was the last Major League player to bat over .400 for a single season (in 1941). He won six American League batting titles and four home run titles and hit .344 over 19 years, including 521 home runs. Today, Williams is regarded as one of the all-time greatest hitters in Major League Baseball history.

Artist/illustrator Kadir Nelson based his artwork of Williams and the other three players (Joe DiMaggio, Larry Doby, and Willie Stargell) on historic photographs. Art director Phil Jordan designed the stamps.

The Major League Baseball All-Stars stamps are being issued as Forever® stamps. Forever stamps are always equal in value to the current First-Class Mail one-ounce rate.
